I’ve been reading other vet student blogs and have noticed that mine is very vet-orientated in comparison with some of them (well, I suppose that’s what you’d expect for a blog about the ‘highs and lows of a veterinary student in the making’…). But anyway, I am in fact a real person, and do also have other interests than just becoming a vet! So my plan is to also write more posts about me, ‘the person’, rather than just me, ‘the vet student’, even though the two are pretty synonymous.
I’ll start you off with one of my lighter interests, Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream. Whilst I do enjoy a good old boogy from time to time, you also can’t beat a Friday night in with the girls, a good film and a tub of B&J’s. Oh yes, and hours (and hours, and hours…) of chatting. By the end of my first degree, we’d managed to perfect the art of these Friday evenings, and they were definitely a great way to destress at the end of the week! One of life’s little pleasures.
There’s even a ‘Happy Cows’ video on the website (see ‘Caring Dairy’), for when I’m feeling too far detached from the vetty world! Although probably not the most scientifically high-brow media (‘At the moment you make deh cow happy, she will be good for you’), it’s a shining example of how my interests are inextricably linked… so basically, to be a well-rounded (literally!) vet, I will need to eat copious quantities of ice cream. I like it!
